Africa Study Centre in Nigeria (ASC) on Monday engaged students in Kano on the need to imbibe reading habits and promote different cultural expressions in Africa and beyond by reading books and using digital technology.
The theme of the outreach which is ” Promoting Reading Habit and Inspiring Reading African Literature Among Students” is the second in the series of programs by the forum
To this end, Africa Study Centre through its branch in Nigeria engaged primary and secondary school pupils and students in Kano state to safeguard and promote the African cultural heritage through reading and technology.
Speaking at the event the vice leader of the forum in Nigeria, Mr Musa Sani Aliyu said that the outreach was designed to educate and enlighten Nigerians, especially the young ones on the importance of using indigenous literature, arts and culture to change the narratives the non-Africans have about the African continent and its cultural heritage
